Licence Types

	Definition	Advantages
Node-Lock (individual)	A node-lock license is restricted to use on one PC only. Transfer of node-lock licenses from one PC to another requires the assistance of EMTP-RV Support.	The least expensive license, purchasing a node-lock license is ideal for smaller organizations with a specific, restricted number of users.
Node-Lock with USB key	The USB key allows a single license to be run on any machine that has the USB key attached.	This offers the greatest flexibility, allowing the engineer to run the software on a desktop while at work and on a laptop when traveling.
Concurrent (floating)	A concurrent license allows numerous floating users to run EMTP-RV simultaneously across a network, depending on the number of floating licenses purchased.	This type of licensing is beneficial to larger companies requiring flexibility for users.

2. EMTP-RV Development Coordination Group Discounts

If your company contributed to the development of EMTP-RV through the EMTP-RV Development Coordination Group, you may be entitled to a discount on the Industrial price. To find out if you are eligible, please contact the EMTP-RV Sales Office at emtp@ceatech.ca.

3. EMTP-RV License Prices for Educational Institutions

Educational licenses may not be used for other purposes than education and research and are limited in terms of number of devices (Power & Control) to those of an average power systems.

General Pricing Information

Maintenance & Upgrades

All license fees include a year’s subscription to the EMTP-RV Maintenance Program, effective the date of purchase. The EMTP-RV Maintenance Program entitles the user to 10 hours of technical support, access to all website sections, including "User Group," and all updates to the software for one year.
Users are required to renew their subscription on a yearly basis to ensure access to the latest version of EMTP-RV.
