Techday | Improve your power system performances using EMTP®
Introduction
EMTP® is the most complete and technically advanced software for simulation and analysis of power systems. It proposes many different functionalities intended for the simulations of electro magnetic transients in AC and DC power systems.
This Techday is proposed in order to provide interested engineers a complete overview on the software and its functionalities through an adapted process:
- Step 1: Two technical sessions for a total duration of 6 hours proposed in an e-training format. The first session will be dedicated to the presentation of EMTP® and the basis on how to use it. The second session is a workshop where two different transient applications using EMTP® will be presented: a TRV analysis and the study of the impact of Renewables energy integration.
- Step 2: The attendees will receive a 2-week full trial license to try EMTP® on their own side. During the trial period, EMTP® engineers will technically support the trainees with regular contact for Q&A and to discuss specific applications. Web-meetings could be organized on demand depending on availabilities.
Objective for the audience
The objective of this technical session is to provide an introduction on how to use EMTP® to perform power system analysis and EMT simulations. In a second part, the attendees will have the opportunity to try the software on their own and all its functionalities thanks to a 2-week full trial license.
Audience description
This e-training is intended for people who would like to discover how useful simulation can be for them:
- Professionals from Power Transmission
- Distribution and Production companies
- Professional engineers
- Consultants
- Post-graduate students
- People interested in electromagnetic transient studies
Computer and temporary EMTP® license
Before the sessions, trainees will receive the required information regarding EMTP® and the temporary license, as well as the meeting connection details.
Trial license
After the sessions, the trainees will receive a 2-week trial license of EMTP® on their hardware.
During the trial period, EMTP® engineers will support the trainees through regular contacts for Q&A and to discuss specific applications. Web-meetings could be organized on demand depending on availabilities.
E-training structure
The event will be performed online. It is composed of two sessions of 3 hours each. The sessions will be held on May 3rd and 5th from 9:00 am to 12:00 am.
