Get started with EMTP® - Beginners

Overview

This training will be held in English.

This course is designed to help participants gain a solid foundation in electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation using EMTP®. By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of EMT simulation

  • Create and configure circuits in EMTP®

  • Simulate and visualize waveforms

  • Model key power system components

No prior experience is required - the course includes hands-on exercises and guided examples to build both theoretical understanding and practical skills.

Computer and temporary EMTP® licenses

Every participant is required to bring their own personal computer. Temporary EMTP® licenses will be provided to participants for the course's duration.

Intended audience

  • T&D electrical engineers
  • Consultants
  • Industry electrical engineers
  • Research personnel in industry, utilities, universities and consulting companies involved in power systems studies
  •  Post-graduated students.

The course objectives are:

  •    Understand the basics of EMT simulation
