DLL programming for EMTP®
A new step-by-step resource is available to explain how to create a DLL in EMTP®. The DLL (Dynamic Link Library) function is designed to allow EMTP® users to develop advanced program model modules and interface them directly and intimately with the EMTP® engine. It also allows to do research on new models and new numerical methods. It is for advanced users and offers advanced capabilities.

Automatic conversion of PSS®E models to EMTP
The PSS®E Import Tool provides an automatic conversion of PSS®E network models for various EMTP® studies, such as the integration of inverter-based resources, switching transients, and insulation coordination. The PSS®E components supported by the Import Tool include buses, lines, breakers, transformers, loads, and synchronous generators, together with their exciters, governors and power system stabilizers. These components are automatically imported, parametrized, and interconnected in EMTP®.
August EMTP® Newsletter
We are pleased to announce the release of EMTP® version 4.0.
This new EMTP® version delivers many improvements on several fronts. From the Graphical User Interface to the new Wideband line/cable model, View Steady-State option, TRV breaker and many other additions, everything has been done to enhance user friendliness and increase productivity.
Did you know that MPLOT can allow to replay the time-domain simulation after a statistical analysis
EMTP® offers the possibility to run statistical analysis for switching events. A statistical analysis case is a Random Data case solved in the time-domain. Instead of performing only one time-domain simulation, EMTP® performs several time-domain simulations with random switching times.
Statistical data can be visualized from the plot processor package MPLOT (options library > MPLOT) and offers different information such as min/max histograms or cumulative distribution functions.

Take advantage of the open architecture of EMTP® to create customized tools and libraries
You can take advantage of the open architecture of EMTP® to create customized toolboxes. A toolbox can contain libraries, documentations, scripts, DLLs and examples. Its content is loaded automatically when EMTP® starts and is completely integrated into the program.
To create a toolbox, proceed as follows:
